WHY DO I NEED TITLE INSURANCE?
To protect possibly the most important investment you'll ever make - the investment in your home. With a title insurance policy, you as the owner, have an indemnity contract that will reimburse you for loss in the event someone asserts a claim against your property that is covered by the policy.
ABOUT US
Born in 1937 in Marion, North Carolina to an impoverished farming family, Donald Westmoreland’s upbringing was steeped in the values of hard work, integrity, and strength. As the Depression era and World War II raged around him, Mr. Westmoreland shouldered the responsibilities that fell upon him as the eldest of four children. As he served his country in the United States Air Force as an intelligence specialist, Mr. Westmoreland fell in love with his wife of sixty-six years, Linda McLain Westmoreland. Together they raised two children.

After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Westmoreland worked with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company before working with the Winston Salem City Fire Departments, which led him to become a fire adjuster with Utica Mutual Insurance and later with Shelby Mutual Insurance Company. After moving to Mills River, North Carolina, Mr. Westmoreland began his own adjusting service, Mills River Claims Service, from which he retired in 2001.

In 2003, Mr. Westmoreland founded North Carolina Title Services, which he owned and managed up until his death in February of 2025. He had only one grandchild, McLain Rose Allen, who now works as an administrative assistant for NC Title. At North Carolina Title Services, we keep Mr. Westmoreland’s timeless values at the heart of everything we do. It is our honor to carry his vision on to the next generation.
